New Jersey Apartment Association to Provide Laughs and Education at May Conference & Expo
April 16, 2012
New Jersey Apartment Association’s (NJAA) 23rd Annual Conference and Expo will be held from Mon., May 21st to Wed., May 23rd at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The Conference and Expo will open with a golf outing at Ballamor Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township on Monday morning to benefit the NJAA Charitable Fund. The President’s Reception, which will be held at 7 p.m. at the NJAA host hotel, The Borgata (tickets required) will serve as the kick off to the conference and will honor new President, Brent Kohere of Home Properties.
This year’s conference features two keynote speakers, one on each day of the conference (Tues. & Wed.):
- Public speaker, advisor, author and entertainer Garrison Wynn will present Tuesday’s keynote. Wynn has a background in manufacturing, entertainment, telecommunications, and financial services. At age, 27 he became the world’s youngest department head in a Fortune 500 company’s history, and as a teen he worked with Magnavox and baseball legend Hank Aaron to promote the world’s first video gaming system. Wynn’s clients include Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Mercedes Benz and Lockheed Martin.
- Magician, mentalist and comedian Jon Stetson will present Wednesday’s keynote. Stetson creates an entertaining and educational act that will certainly kick the conference off on the right note. He has more than 25 years of public speaking experience with groups of five to 5,000 and has worked with companies including American Express, Hasbro, Target, Smith Barney and Apple Computers.
Brent Kohere, President of NJAA, commented on this year’s Conference and Expo, “For more than twenty years, our conference has provided the multi-family industry opportunities to learn and grow. This year’s conference is no different but we’ve infused the learning opportunities with a few laughs thanks to our keynote speakers, Garrison Wynn and Jon Stetson who will help our members become more successful in their jobs while having a good time.”
In addition to the keynote address, the Conference and Expo offers educational sessions for industry members including property owners and managers, leasing agents and maintenance staff with an extensive list of 19 multi-family industry related learning opportunities. Attendees are also invited to explore this year’s exhibits, attend the “After Hours Party” on Tues., May 22th at the nightclub Mixx at The Borgata, and enjoy networking meals on Tues., May 22nd and Wed., May 23th.
Exhibitors are encouraged to reserve their space now-more than 85 percent of the exhibit floor is already sold.
The NJAA Annual Conference and Expo is attended by owner members and their staffs who own and manage more than 160,000 apartments. Each year, exhibitors present the latest technology, products and services, providing a means of generating new revenue and reducing costs.
