NJAA represents all facets of the multi-family industry. This includes market, affordable, senior, military and mixed-use housing in every county. Membership is offered to multiple categories within the industry: owners and managers of rental housing, suppliers of services/products to the rental housing industry and municipal agencies.
NJAA recognizes the need to work with multiple industries, trade associations and coalitions for the betterment of its own. As such, NJAA is a proud member of the National Apartment Association (NAA), the National Apartment Association/National Multi Housing Council Joint Legislative Committee, NJ State Chamber of Commerce (NJCC), the NJ Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), Homes For New Jersey, Smart Growth Economic Development Coalition, ICSC New Jersey Alliance Program, Smart Housing for Economic Prosperity Task Force (NJ Future) and Platform for Progress (NJ Chamber).
In its role as the sole advocate for the multi-family industry, in 2010, NJAA commissioned the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University to conduct a sophisticated economic analysis of New Jersey’s multi-family industry. The information gathered in this study will offer both policymakers and apartment professionals profound insight into the economic scope of the industry, affecting future regulation and legislation.
