The goals and objectives of the New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA) are designed to advance and protect the welfare of the apartment industry in New Jersey.
NJAA represents the apartment industry before the New Jersey Legislature and governmental agencies and provides continuing education and information to its members and the public.
NJAA is committed to providing services and opportunities that enhance, improve and promote the apartment management profession.
NJAA enables its members to share experiences and advance their interests.
NJAA's membership's interests are served on a national level through its affiliation with the National Apartment Association (NAA).
History
In 1986 the Multi-Housing Council of the New Jersey Builder’s Association (NJBA) formed a stand-alone association to better serve New Jersey apartment owners. NJAA was formerly known as the New Jersey Council of the Multi Housing Industry (MHI). The MHI’s presence and testimony helped to establish the association in Trenton, in the news and in the real estate community.
In December of 1992 MHI changed its name to the New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA) to signify and celebrate the association’s efforts and success at uniting and advancing New Jersey’s Apartment industry. Our founders were trailblazers, as are the NJAA members today who represent apartment owners throughout the state.
NJAA is a Proud Member of the following Trade Associations and Coalitions:
National Apartment Association (NAA)
National Apartment Association/National Multi Housing Council Joint Legislative Committee
NJ State Chamber of Commerce (NJCC)
NJ Business & Industry Association (NJBIA)
Homes For New Jersey
Smart Growth Economic Development Coalition
ICSC New Jersey Alliance Program
Smart Housing for Economic Prosperity Task Force (NJ Future)
Platform for Progress (NJ Chamber)
