EVENT DETAILS AND INFORMATION

Spread holiday cheer by signing-up to participate in NJAA's Annual Holiday Toy Drive benefiting children in need throughout New Jersey! 
Why Participate?
  • Spread Joy: Your contributions will directly benefit children in under-served communities, ensuring they experience the magic of the holidays.
  • Community Impact: By participating, you’ll help strengthen our community bonds and create a culture of giving.
  • Team Building: Engage your employees or residents in a meaningful activity that fosters camaraderie and teamwork.
What to Donate
  • New, unwrapped toys for children ages newborn to 17 years old. Some ideas include but are not limited to: books,board games, art supplies, Lego sets, Rubik's cubes, dolls, action figures, dolls, science kits, basket balls, soccer balls, and puzzles. 
  • NEW clothing (with tags) will also be accepted for newborns and children up to age 17. 
  • Unused toiletries such as: toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant and the like. If you have new and unused items that you'd also like to donate, we would ask that they be packaged separately from the toy donations to avoid leaking or spills.
How You Can Help
  1. Organize a Collection Point: Set up a designated area in your apartment community or corporate office for toy donations.
  2. Promote Participation: Encourage employees, residents, and their families to donate new, unwrapped toys.
  3. Spread the Word: Use newsletters, social media, and community boards to promote the Toy Drive and the difference it will make.
  4. Host a Fun Event: Consider organizing a festive gathering to encourage toy donations, like a holiday party or team-building event.
  5. Volunteer a Vehicle: If your company has a van or truck, consider volunteering it to help collect the toys from various drop-off locations. Your support can ensure that all donations reach those in need swiftly and efficiently! 
    Important Dates
    • Toy Drive Duration: Toys can be collected now until December 12, 2025.
    • Collection Deadline: Toy pick-up will take place the week of December 15th, NJAA will reach out to you in advance to coordinate pickup.

    VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION


    Register your Property Site/Company Office     to host a toy collection site.  Encourage residents/staff members to purchase or donate the items above and gather them in a central location in your office. 

    NJAA will coordinate a driver volunteer the week of December 15th to come to your office and pick up the donations from you. Be prepared to submit a photo of the size of the collection the week prior to pickups for proper driver vehicle coordination! Please provide the following:
    1. Full address for the exact pickup site for the driver.
    2. Cell phone number and e-mail address for the main point of contact for pickup coordination
    3. Cell phone number and e-mail address for an alternate POC 
    Register yourself or a staff member to drive to various property/company collection sites to pickup donations and drop them off to a Volunteers of America Donation Center. 

    Please be prepared to complete pickups/drop offs to multiple sites the week of December 15th.  NJAA will coordinate your route the week prior and will attempt to make them as local to you (or to one other) as possible.  Please provide the following:
    1. Make and model of the vehicle.
    2. Cell phone number and e-mail address for the driver.

    Drop offs will be at the Volunteers of America Donation Centers in either Collingswood, Somerville, Trenton, or Rahway.
